Describe your teaching style in 3 words.

Controlled, Balanced and Layered

How long have you been a reformer Pilates instructor and what got you into the industry?

I have been teaching Reformer Pilates for over 8 years now. As a Chiropractor, I am trained to assess and treat musculoskeletal issues. Pilates, with its emphasis on core strength, flexibility and postural awareness is an effective modality to improve a client’s overall health.

What does your training routine consist of?

A combination of Pilates, Strength and Function Movement, Yoga and Surfing

What are your favourite exercises and why?

Upper body and Core.

Many upper body exercises in Pilates focus on promoting proper alignment and postural awareness. These exercises target the muscles needed for everyday activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

Core, because, who doesn’t love a strong, spicy core workout. Pilates is renowned for its focus on core strength and you can be reassured that in my classes there is always constant progression and variety of core exercise that will keep your workouts exciting.

Do you have any favourite pre and post workout snacks? If so, what are they?

Well, I love me some snacks… but protein pancakes/ waffles are my go-to these days.

Where is your favourite spot to enjoy a day off on the Sunshine Coast?

I love to spend my days off by the beach. From Coolum to Alexandra Headlands, surfing or just enjoying a beach day is my ideal day off.

What kind of songs do you have in your pilates playlist?

Depends on my mood and class but ranges from 90s, House Music, RNB/Hip Pop.

Do you have any advice for someone wanting to be a pilates instructor?

Get proper training, deepen your personal practice, continuously be open to learning and listen to client feedback.

Day days are you teaching at sor?

Thursday morning and the occasional Saturday morning.
